About our Guild

The Quilters Guild of Greater Kansas City was founded in 1975. Our mission is to promote, advance and stimulate the knowledge and appreciation of the quilting arts; and to conduct and support programs and services for the education of all interested persons in the skills and techniques of the quilting arts.

Monthly guild meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at the First Lutheran Church, 6400 State Line Road, Mission Hills, KS 66208. At 9:00 a.m. we have a social hour. The program and meeting begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at noon.

The Guild provides child care for members’ and guest’s children during meetings as needed. Arrangements must be made in advance by calling the Child Care Committee Chairman no later than the Sunday before the meeting. Cost is $5 per child.

Membership is open to anyone interested in the quilting arts. Annual membership DUES are $20, payable July 1 of each year. Dues must be paid by the August meeting in order to be included in the Guild’s membership directory. Any person who becomes a new member after January 1 of each year shall pay $10 for the remainder of that fiscal year (through June 30).

The Guild NEWSLETTER is sent to each member before each monthly meeting. Members are encouraged to turn in articles of interest to the Editor for publication.
